About
Foodie Footie
Foodie Footie is a blog dedicated to exploring the rich and often overlooked relationship between football and food.
Our blog attempts to go beyond the pitch and into the kitchens, communities, and cultures that shape the beautiful game. From exclusive interviews with chefs, business owners and academics, to behind-the-scenes stories from football clubs, we uncover the people and practises that bring football's food culture to life.
At Foodie Footie, we believe the game is more than 90 minutes - it's about the stories, the flavours, and the communities that make the game unforgettable.

As an avid supporter of both Tottenham Hotspur and Clyde FC, I have insight into the hot Bovril and pies of Scottish football, as well as the globalisation of modern football at its very peak.
As a lifelong football fan, I have always been fascinated with the different cultures and identities worldwide that share my passion. I believe that the food we eat and meals we make say a lot about us, so I created Foodie Footie to help explore the unique relationship between food and football, and illuminate the culture found within this relationship.

I studied Film and Media Studies at Queen Margaret University, and this is where my first real understanding and love for academic gastronomy was found. I now study Sports Journalism (Masters) at Edinburgh Napier University.

Through my Masters, I have had some amazing opportunities to meet new people and gain new experiences. Alongside my good friend Matthew Burns, I started 'The Half-Time Reel' , a podcast combining our love of Football and Film.
